This petition is to ask the school boards of Escambia and Santa Rosa Counties, Florida to request to overturn the emergency order to re-open schools as of August 24, 2020. These school districts are required to follow the emergency order executed by Governor Ron Desantis and Department of Education Commissioner Richard Corcoran to re-open schools without full evaluation of the current COVID-19 situation in our state.

The state of Alabama has adopted to not re-open their schools and use virtual education for the first 9 weeks. Why can't Florida adopt the same concept? 

Up till now, the Escambia and Santa Rosa County School districts have not given any assurance to parents, teachers, or schools workers regarding the education and safety guidelines in the state with the highest number of COVID-19 deaths in the United States. It does not make logical sense to willingly expose our children and others to these reckless decisions being made by our elected, political officials.

If you are in favor for schools to remain closed,in Escambia and Santa Rosa Counties until COVID-19 cases significantly decreased and more clarity and assurance is given as to the safety of our children, teachers, and school workers, please sign this petition.
