Request Escambia Co. Commissioners to request Skanska USA Civil Southeast reef Old bridge
0 have signed. Let’s get to 1,500!
Pensacola Fishing Fanatics and supporters are requesting that the Escambia County Commission and Escambia County Marine Resources Officer Robert Turpin work with Skanska USA Civil Southeast to divert portions of the existing Pensacola Bay Bridge as Reef material in permitted areas South of Pensacola and if possible near shore for Kayak fishermen and/or snorkeling opportunities.
In addition, it would be preferable if some area of the bay can be permitted for some reef material.
We feel that the additional reef material will do the following for our community.
1.) Increase reef fish stocks to include but not limited to Red Snapper, Trigger Fish, Amberjack, Grouper as well as other pelagic reef species.
2.) Increase diving and possibly snorkeling opportunities for Escambia County Residents as well as visitors to our area increasing revenue for the Dive businesses.
3.) Increase fishing opportunities for Escambia County Residents, Visitors to the area benefiting recreational fisherman both owning their own vessels or using Charter services increasing their revenues and opportunities for business.
Thank you for your consideration and action on this petition.
