This land was bequeathed by the Woodward family so that people of average income could enjoy boating

I'm signing because i have a vested interest in this city, it's marinas, it affordability for the small people, not just the wealthy. The CoV is rapidly outpricing itself to anyone of modest means. It is unheard of anywhere else to impose an increase this high and to threaten to do so until it hits 30% sends a loud message as to what you think this marina should be used for and by whom. What about the little people? Or are we to become that city? Not if we can help it.

We have our boat at Burrard Civic marina. The marina is in a beautiful location but has not been maintained and is in poor repair. Very little of the fees paid by boat owners seems to have gone into maintaining the marina.
Also, we thought that the idea behind parks board programs was to make activities affordable for people. We understand that the marina already makes a big profit, which is used as revenue for other Vancouver Parks programs. A 30 % increase may make the marina unaffordable to many of the boat owners. There are many families, retirees and people of average income who have very modest boats at Burrard Marina.

I am signing because the marina costs are already high. To increase by 30% over the next few years is ridiculous.

This city is too expensive already, do we need more floating unattended vessels? Keep them tied up afordably.

Having been born and raised in Vancouver (Deep Cove),it would be criminal for those living there not to be able to afford to enjoy boating. What would be the point of living there if you cannot enjoy the Coast?

The basis of evaluation is flawed as we do not have the services that the comparables have. I believe this is nothing more than a cash grab without any value added for the boaters in Vancouver.
