Renaming the "Saint Joseph" River to "Potawatomi" River in Indiana and Michigan.

I am petitioning for the renaming of the 'Saint Joseph' River to the 'Potawatomi' River.
I believe the name change would help restore the history of the area the Indigenous Americans once settled upon. The Pokagon Band are descendants of the residents of allied Potawatomi villages that were historically located along the St. Joseph, Paw Paw and Kalamazoo rivers in what are now southwest Michigan and northern Indiana. They were the only Potawatomi band to gain permission from the United States government to remain in Michigan after Indian removal in the 1830s. The tribe has been federally recognized since 1994 legislation affirmed its status; it has established self-government.
The current river system and its outlets run through the center of the Potawatomi territory.
The river flows through the following counties.
State of Indiana: De Kalb, Elkhart, Kosciousko, LaGrange, Noble, Saint Joseph, and Steuben.
State of Michigan: Berrien, Branch, Calhoun, Cass, Hillsdale, Kalamazoo, Saint Joseph, and Van Buren.
