Why this petition matters

Started by Ariana Kanaya

On May 25 George Floyd was murdered and a victim of police brutality—sadly this is not an isolated incident rather the latest in a series of racial injustices.  Eric Garner, Michael Brown, Pamela Turner, and so many more people, their unjust deaths are the product of a broken system.  Unfortunately, there is no easy solution but this is not the time to tune out and binge-watch, this is the time to listen to protesters and black people to work towards a productive solution.  We need to stand together as Hoosiers to inform our representatives that residents of Indiana are Anti-Racism and want our legislature to reflect that by working to implement policies and practices that positively impact minorities, the historically and systematically disadvantaged, and people of color.  We want more than talk, we need action.  Thoughtful, collaborative, articulate, clear, inclusive, planned action.
