The reason I am writing this petition is that in the city of Los Angeles California homelessness has become a huge problem in our city. It's a problem because the homeless population has increased and theirs nowhere else for them to go. Homeless shelters and assisted living programs are very compacted. Homeless shelters are unsafe stories that have come out on the news when certain homeless individuals have said their stuff came up missing or taken by other homeless people. Nine out of ten most homeless people have mental health issues. The kind of mental health issues they have is PTSD, multiple personality disorder, and schizophrenia. Another reason is that people are living paycheck to paycheck because the min wage is low. I feel like if we raise min wage and or lower the cost of living in Los Angeles then that would decrease our homeless populations. If we offered more programs for homeless people then we wouldn't have so many in our county. If we donated some abandoned buildings like downtown that would also help.
