Paola Lopez-Cordon started this petition to Mayor of Los Angeles Eric Garcetti and

Goodwin Gaw and Gaw Capital USA is trying to allocate $100 million towards the renovation of Hollywood and Highland in order to get more locals to come and visit. This is an extremely, unnecessary large amount of money that will be put into something that does not benefit the surrounding community and populations that are at risk due to the amount of gentrification that has been happening in the community for years. We have a very high homeless population in our city, our education system is not getting the proper funding to provide extra resources and programs to our youth, low-income families are being pushed out of their homes because they can't afford rent, and these are just a few out of the many other issues our community faces. Instead of using this money towards a mall, the owners of Hollywood and Highland should reconsider where this money should be directed to so we may foster a safer and healthier environment for the people of our community.
