Being a resident in South Central Los Angeles my entire life one of the most overwhelming things to witness is seeing loved ones and residents around me fall under drug addictions. South Central is a tough environment to live in due to the various societal issues that happen consistently such as gang violence, poverty, racial inequality, and the list continues. One of the most uprising issues currently in this particular area is homelessness and sadly it isn't just in South Central but it is one of the most oppressing issues in the state of California. With being such a wealthy state it's shocking to believe that this is an issue. I strongly believe that many become homeless due to drug addictions, the way a substance can completely take over the human body hurts me and what hurts me more is that within South Central there aren't much nearby resources to help clear the blocked pathways of those who suffer from drug addictions. By Signing this petition we all can form as one and bring more light upon this issue and create various movements, and solutions to help ease and overcome this issue. I'd like to leave everyone with this thought, just picture yourself next to someone you truly love. You witness them break their life away due to a drug addiction one can only due so much with the lack of professional knowledge and resources to help bring your loved one back on their feet. By establishing a professional complex where many who have drug addictions can attend to in the South Central Area of Los Angeles I firmly believe that this can help put a stop to the drug addiction problem and slowly bleed into easing the issue of homelessness.
