By now, all of us know the unimaginably horrible situation the Ukrainian War has put so many people in. However, it is immeasurably heart-wrenching to see Ukrainian students we know personally suffering the consequences of an unjustified war. We will never know the pain that our dearest friends are experiencing at the moment, all we can do is our utmost to help them.

Erasmus University has taken a strong stance on the Ukrainian War. From their communications, they have stated, "Creating societal impact means that we must uphold the principles we stand for – not just in theory but also in practice.". With this petition, we are forcing them to provide actions to stand by their words.

EUR, along with other Dutch Knowledge institutions, are currently discussing aid for Ukrainian students. By signing this petition, you will make them turn their words into actions.

We have submitted a proposal to the management of EUR to provide financial aid  for the tuition fees of Ukrainian students that have been financially impacted by the war. We have proposed that EUR either:

1. Fully waives the tuition fees of current Ukrainian students at EUR or

2. Establishes a fund for Ukrainian students to help cover their tuition fees. We propose this fund be funded by EUR, and also be open for donations from the public, so all of us can contribute bit by bit to helping our Ukrainian EUR colleagues complete their education.  

We are urging EUR to start providing financial aid as soon as possible, to assure current Ukrainian EUR students that they will be able to finish their degree, no matter how much they have been financially impacted by this war.
