Before Title 42, refugees who wanted to come to America were allowed to be processed and seek asylum. Currently, this policy is immediately rejecting refugees who want to come up and seek asylum in America. The policy arose during covid because people did not want people from countries where covid is high. However, the CDC says covid is not any worse in countries like Mexico than it is in the US. This argument infers that the policy has an illegitimate reason to not let immigrants from certain countries into America. The petition we want people to sign is for efforts to eradicate the policy, Title 42.
