This is important so that the LGBT community can have equal rights to housing and job stability. In Idaho our human rights bill doesn't include this. We have to hide the fact that we are LGBT from our employers and also from property management companies. Senator Mcgee stated " I appreciate their concern, and their dissapointment, but we've got a job to do here and we are moving on." This is the type of support we see here on a regular basis. Despite two recent rally's in front of the capital, we are still pushed to the side with disreguard to changing the human rights act to protect our housing and our jobs. Despite the fact that approximently 90% of americans feel that we should have our fights, 7 states still perform this type of discrimination.
Give gays equal rights to jobs and housing
In Idaho you can lose your job or be refused a rental property if you are a lesbian.gay, bisexual, or transgender. There is no protection against these things in this state. Along with that there are no anti bullying rights for children that are in school. We want to have the same rights to these things as any heterosexual couple has. We want to feel safe and secure and also want our children and family to feel the same way. It is hard to be treated as a second class citizen. With your help, we have a chance of changing this situation from a negative to a positive.
Thank you for your support. Together we can make a difference.
