Equality for Fathers in Ireland - Both parents are equally important to their children!

Equality for Fathers in Ireland - Both parents are equally important to their children!

I am a woman, a sister, an aunt, a friend and it would seem that I am also favoured in the eyes of the family courts. A right I was born with it seems when it comes to my rights with regard to any children I might have. Had I been born male, it seems that any and all parental rights are not guaranteed. Instead, a father must fight and fight hard in order to simply spend time with his own flesh and blood.
I have witnessed first hand the torture which is inflicted by bitter spouse, the apathy of so called support structures, the trivial observation of concerned parties and the draining of a man's life, money and hope.
Men don't survive this process and it is not good enough.
What is wrong with fair treatment for both, children depend on this changing and on being genuinely put first.
Mothers and Fathers should have 50/50 custody of their children by law, then there would be a lot less long drawn out, devastating Court cases as it would be clear from the outset that both are equally entitled to both the joy and the responsibility of their amazing children.
