Polygamy has been illegal in all 50 states of the United States, and I believe change must happen. Polyamory is not just finding multiple partners, it’s also about feeling free, being open and happy with partners that impacted their lives for the better. I have two wonderful women that I love dearly and wouldn’t trade for the world. Though I can’t come out to my parents and say that I want to marry two girls since it is illegal and it is normalized to be not only with a man as a female but one man only. It pains me everyday to have a relationship in secret , because i'm not allowed to advance to the next step with them and I don’t want to hurt my family in the process. The world has to eventually get used to change and keeping laws hidden that makes communities uncomfortable will only make more people hide who they are, and it affects especially youth. LGBTQ+ individuals have gained rights that have been fought in court, and I believe a man should be allowed to marry multiple men or women and a woman can marry multiple men or women with consent.
