Equal Rights for the LGBT community at the Roseville Galleria: Stop lying to the LGBT community and treat them equally
So on Saturday March 2nd, 2013, a gay couple was harassed by a security guard who forced them to leave the mall for kissing each other's cheeks. He said that he will approach anybody in the mall who is kissing and tell them to leave. But according to a report from Fox 40 KXTL, they watched mall goers for hours and witness a bunch of heterosexual couples kissing but not being asked to leave at all. When reporter Marin Austin asked the manager of the Galleria about the security guards' behavior, he was hesitant to reply and walked out on the interview. He later replyed with this to say : "Persons that violate the Code of Conduct are asked to leave the property." However, there is nowhere in the Code of Conduct saying that bans public displays of affection.
Now in protest of this terrible event, I suggest that all couples (gay or straight) go into the Rosevile Galleria on Sunday March 10th, 2013 at 6pm and simply walk around the mall holding hands, giving hugs to each other, and kissing each other. Nothing graphic like making out. A simple cheek kiss like the ones Daniel Chesmore and Jose Guzman exchanged to make a point. I'm working on coming up with a spot that we could all meet up at. See how many people get kicked out and demand equal rights!!
I think it would be best that we all rendezvous in front of The Cheesecake Factory, make sure we all know what to do, and then spread out!
