Why this petition matters
Nearly 4 weeks ago I lost my daughter at just 5 weeks old, we held her funeral last Wednesday at Accrington crematorium then a burial at the baby garden. After this time we have been in search of finding the right headstone/curb set for our beautiful daughters resting place for which we are told we are only allowed to have a headstone with writing. They all have to be the same colour, shape & size also not being able to make our own little garden with small fencing etc round as this would be removed. As a family we wanted the best for her (curb-set, a headstone with a photo on) to be told it has to be the same as every other one in there. We where told nothing about the policies of what we could or couldn’t have and after her now being laid to rest we feel we made the wrong decision to lay her there. I am trying to get a petition together to try and allow them to change some of the policies, ie allowing a small photo or even a little garden on the graves. We have found out some more information on the rishton & great Harwood cemetery allow curb-sets but only for the Asian community but none other which we think isn’t very fair. We take into consideration that the cemeteries need looking after and they are large and in some ways it is an easier way for every grave to be the same for maintenance, but for families who have lost someone special and who want to visit and remember there loved ones but then not be able to give them what they want when they are gone is terrible. Please get this out there so some policies may be changed. Our loved ones deserve the best. Please share and sign. Get this out there to get what our angels deserve!!
