Equal Pay and Transparency

Equal Pay and Transparency
The Equal Pay Act was signed into law over half a century ago by JFK. Though progress has been made in closing the gap women continue to make significantly less than men and work longer hours. COVID has perpetuated this disparity and widened the pay gap by shrinking job availability and requiring a larger share of home care time which disproportionately impacts women.
Policy changes are needed to continue the progress toward equitable pay, increase access to paid leave, address child and elder care needs, and add more diversity to senior management. Diverse leadership has been proven to drive higher top line sales and profitability, for the economy to flourish we need to create a more diverse labor force. Let's start with pay transparency. Together, we can close the gender and racial wage gap.
