The SKM recycling centre has now had three fire outburst within the year. The last fire which was on Thursday 13th of July 2017 and one of the coldest days the year, was the worst fire outbreak, that has gone on for more then 36 hours and still continuing to burn. In which high level of toxic smoked was blowed into residentials homes across Dallas, Coolaroo and Campbellfield. So far a number of people have been admitted to hospital for breathing difficulties.
The EPA has clearly failed in protecting the citizens of Hume. The safety standards placed for the plant seems to be substandard.
People and businesses who have been affected need to compensated.
