A flourishing environment is the foundation for our life on this planet. Earth is a home for different living species. We are all dependent on the environment for our food, water, air and other resources.  Therefore,   we should save and protect life on land. However, natural events and human activities are believed to be the main contributors of never ending environmental dilemmas. These environmental problems make us vulnerable to disasters and tragedies, now and in the future. It makes our planet to mourn and suffer because of the environmental problems piling up high around us. Hence, it unexpectedly changes our environmental quality and continues degrading and losing our biodiversity. In fact, we are the ones who have caused severe damage to our environment and are slowly killing our ecosystem through our irresponsible activities. If we are going to compare the condition of our environment today from before, we can really notice and observe the biggest difference of the two. Littering, cutting trees, mining, dynamite fishing etc. are the things we did to our environment. But then, there are some simple things that we can do in preserving the sustainability of our environment.

As a former Youth for Environment in School Organization (YES-O) officer, I realized that even if you're just a student, you can be an environment warrior. In my experience, this organization helps me to serve as a significant venue  for people's actions and movements towards safeguarding, protecting and conserving the environment. It provides me with a leadership role for me to awaken the awareness and initiative of the people to develop, help the threat of further damage on the environment and help me to promote the awareness of the condition of the environment.

Taking actions like simple recycling, practicing proper waste disposal and management, volunteering in any local programs like clean and green program, planting more trees, creating an innovative gardening project to help in taking care of the innovative gardens we have established at home. Having an innovative garden can be our pleasurable source of fresh vegetables and fruits. It will also help us carry out different practices responsibly. Some of the materials used at home can be recycled and used on our innovative gardens. Consequently, in just simple things we can really help our environment. This is the time to get courage, work together and do actions. Small enough to care, but big enough to make a difference. Think SUSTAINABLE and Act RESPONSIBLE.
