Using efficient appliances

Every single day we use energy to accommodate our lifestyle that we live in. We use energy to do work. Energy lights up our cities. Energy warms our houses, cooks our food, plays our music, and the ability to have a proper education. Technology has innovated our thinking by having the ability to do research and learn things that we did not know before. Everything we do is connected with energy, for example, writing this essay and also the ability to do work. Electricity is a crucial utility that everyone needs in the United States(US). Without electricity, we would not be able to use our electrical appliances that we use in our daily lives. But having this utility, we are producing toxic gas into our atmosphere, contamination and also wasting our nonrenewable resources such as fossil fuels. The rise of the population in the inner cities has made Peabody Energy one of the largest coal producers and others in America, to create energy in a hazardous way, for example, improper land use, waste management, water and air pollution. Eventually, people in the US would be impacted by these economic and environmental factors, such as the rise of carbon dioxide and also electrical bills. One of the reasons of this chaos is the EPA is not having an impact on these coal companies because they do not have a budget that can influence regulations. This mainly affects low-income families because they do not have enough money to pay for modern and efficient appliances that could help them lower their electricity bills. Moreover, air pollution has impacted humans negatively because they have a higher risk of asthma and respiratory inflammation.
A policy that can create change economically for Americans is to promote ENERGY STAR efficient appliances in local stores such as Sears, Home Depot and Lowes (etc). Discounts? Furthermore, the federal government has to increase its funding to the EPA, so they can set more restrictions on power plant coal owners, such as producing less carbon dioxide that can lead to less pollution. By doing this, fewer humans would be less vulnerable of being contaminated by air pollution and also benefit from the decrease in their bills, through clean energy appliances. Essentially, low-income families could use their money for other purposes. The road to solving Energy Consumption is not an easy one but with community efforts and federal government support can help the process along.
