Help our Planet and its Resources: Compost for Life

Let's be more eco-friendly. In the United States, food waste is a major problem. It affects our environment, our community, and our economy. About 40% of all the food we create ends up in the garbage, unused. This is a huge issue, because we could be using this food waste to reverse the damage it creates. This is called compost, and it helps us give back to the Earth.
Composting is the use of food waste to create soil. It turns the food into fresh soil that has many uses. Composting can decrease the use of pesticides and artificial fertilizers in our community by providing farmers with nutrient-rich soil to build stronger, healthier plants. Composting can also help with a variety of other issues, like feeding the poor, and helping to reduce our carbon footprint.
Compost for Life is a local organization in South Florida dedicated to helping people reduce their food waste. They have different composting options for restaurants, businesses, and families. They provide you with a large bucket to put your food waste in, and they pick it up every week to turn it into compost at their composting station, so you don't have to do the dirty work. Then, when your compost is done (which is as little as 3 weeks), you'll get fresh nutrient-rich soil perfect for planting. If you don't want the soil and just want to help the community, they will donate it to farmers to reduce their use of pesticides and upgrade their plants' health.
Let's all become friends of the Earth. My goal is to help my community, Miami Beach, to be more eco-friendly. Even if you don't live here, you can help spread awareness and share this petition or sign it.
