Hello,

We at Monash Family and Community Co-op are seeking your signature in an effort to slow down traffic at the Howleys Road and Normanby Road roundabout, where we regularly cross the road with groups of children.

We are currently participating in a TAC funded Road Safety Project for Kindergartens and Child Care Centres that focuses on educating children and their families about Road Safety.

We have the support of Early Learning Associations Australia, TAC and the Monash Accident Research Centre. Children are vulnerable road users due to their size and cognitive development and statistics show how many children per year are killed or injured on our roads.

We are asking you to sign this petition to ensure entry into the roundabout is slowed to 40 km per hour (as per school zones) to ensure our children can access this cross-over safely.

I have provided the link for you to sign your name to the partition and implore you to share amongst your employees to garner as many signatures of support we can to present to Local Government and Vic Roads.

I have included a photo of how we are currently ensuring children cross the roundabout as safe as possible, but as you can see this is a measure that does not achieve our goal of ensuring the roundabout is a safe for us to cross.
