Must read and avoid getting cheated at cinemas (PVR)!
I happened to visit pvr cinemas, vijayawada with my friends today and we got five tickets worth 125 each. The staff handed us a few candies stating them to be complimentary. They swiped our cards for Rs.680 instead of Rs.625 which was justified by the staff as GST. Later when we checked the ticket, it was clearly mentioned that the base fare was 95+28% GST. When we approached them, they started apologizing that they billed us for the candy as well. I would like to make you all aware about how our innocence about this new tax system is being exploited by these corporates. We were shocked to see everyone in the theatre with candies without knowing that they were looted Rs.11 in addition to their tickets. Please be aware while getting your tickets in the cinemas halls and double check bill. As long as we are ignorant, this is gonna be our fate.We trust these corporates and swipe our cards without checking the bill and they end up taking advantage of our ignorance. Imagine if PVRcinemas sells atleast 2000 tickets a day and bill Rs.11 extra for every ticket, what is the level of money they are looting? 2000 is just an approximation and it will be definitely double or triple the number. In case you findout and ask them back about extra billing, they have already given a candy in your hand telling that it is complimentary and they will apologize to you stating that was wrongly billed.
Kindly share for the benefit of others.
shame on you pvr, cheating in the name of gst.
