In the UK and in some Western countries the LTTE/Tamil Tiger Terrorists’ flags are displayed in public in contravention of UN designation of the LTTE a.k.a as a terrorist outfit on 2 Nov 2001. Further, 32 countries listed LTTE in the same category under the UN proscribed organizations.
It is indeed ironical to see how the authorities in some countries turn a blind eye to the LTTE a k a. Tamil Tiger flag while they continue a ban on flags of ISIS and Al Qaida. It is a well-known fact how the LTTE invented the art of suicide bombing and now widely used kit of the suicide bombers and marshalling of the child soldiers as cannon fodder, massacring of unarmed civilians while engaged in atrocious acts of terrorism in Sri Lanka and India. Yet, the LTTE a k a Tamil Tiger fronts are treated with obvious duplicity.
Given below is the relevant clause from the UK Terrorism Act 2000,
"wear clothing or carry or display articles in public in such a way or in such circumstances
as arouse reasonable suspicion that an individual is a member or supporter of the
proscribed organisation (section 13)."Clearly displaying the flag of a proscribed organisation is prohibited under this act. Hence the displaying of the LTTE flag is prohibited.
With the revelations of the actual numbers killed in Sri Lanka’s war against the LTTE by Lt Col Gash and presented to the British Parliament by Lord Naseby, it is very clear how the war was conducted by the Government of Sri Lanka as against the ruthless killings conducted by the LTTE.
The flag of the LTTE has nothing whatsoever do with any cultural or ethnic significance, but a representation of naked terrorism of Tamil Tigers. On the 4 the February 2018 the LTTE flag waving LTTE front activists staged an unruly demonstration in front of the Sri Lankan High Commission in London while the Police failed to read the law to them
We, therefore appeal to the British political leaders irrespective of the pressures exerted by the biased political groups and heavily funded lobby groups to take a responsible and just decision and BAN THE LTTE a, k.a Tamil Tiger FLAG BEING DIPLAYED IN PUBLIC FUNCTIONS IN THE UK.
