This is one of the 2 HMO properties who are owned by a private landlord in Basingstoke, Hampshire. He has run this business for over 10 years and has been stealing tenants deposits throughout by not giving tenancy agreement or his personal address so tenants are helpless when it comes to the return of their deposit. He relies on people not knowing their rights and not bringing these kind of proceedings to the appropriate  organisations that can put a stop to it. He threatens tenants with big words so they get afraid of taking their case legally. He takes advantage of the young and innocent, teenagers moving out from parents looking for independency, foreigners who come to the country for more opportunities, pregnant couples who are waiting on their new home to go through, people who are going through divorce or separation. To this date, we are 30 victims from this landlord who is still dealing with his unlawful business without any documentation for his tenants, nor deposit protection. We ask for this to be investigated and dealt with accordingly by the authorities sooner rather than later. It breaks my heart seeing people going through what I can only call a nightmare trying to get their deposits back through the system that might take years. In the meantime, this landlord rents to other innocent and vulnerable people who don’t know that this is going on regularly with every single tenant in that house. In 10 years of withholding people’s money unlawfully. I don’t want to see this going on to 20. This has to be stopped now so no one else lose their precious money they have worked so hard for.
