Ending Maternal Anemia
0 have signed. Let’s get to 100!
We the mothers, adolescent girls, families, citizens and Civil Society Organisations inside and outside Pakistan are concerned that mothers and newborns are at a risk of dying during child birth due to poor maternal health and nutrition in Pakistan especially Sindh province. Majority of the surviving children (of malnourished mothers) go on to bear undesirable effects of malnutrition that prevent them from reaching their full potential.
Therefore, as citizens of Pakistan, we call upon the Honorable Chief Minister of Sindh to:
- Increase the budget for availability of iron and folic acid supplements for women of reproductive age group in all districts of Sindh.
- Ensure improvement of health and nutrition counseling services to expecting mothers for better pregnancy outcomes in the province.
- Develop and implement policies focused on health and nutrition of future mothers (adolescent girls) in the province.
These actions will lead to address the long standing Maternal and Child Health & Nutrition issues and help in achieving our national and international commitments.
