I am a student in the Philadelphia school district and we are required to scan in and id card or punch in our id on this machine every morning or be charged a dollar if we don't do it we get charged a dollar every time. This system also counts for our attendance. Being a student with adhd I often forget my id or forget to scan, and I have formed a backlog of unjustified student debt. If you forget to scan in once a week by the end of high school you will owe around 150$ which to some families could be detrimental.
