On September 22, 2021 Doug Ford (Premier of Ontario) announced the start of Vaccine Certificates in the province of Ontario. Doug Ford who had previously criticized the vaccine passport system being implemented in other regions, has stated that he as a Ontarian is "not gonna have a split society". 

Understandably, Covid-19 has evolved during this pandemic resulting in measure's evolving with them. Doug Ford implemented the Vaccine certificate system to Ontarians in good faith; on October 22, 2021 with the reassurance of "We will only use these certificates for as long as they are needed and not one day longer.”. Vaccine certificates were scheduled to end January 17, 2022. Now, three and a half months into the Vaccine Certificate program in Ontario. ALL businesses which were enforcing Vaccination Certificate programs are now locked down. The temporary vaccine passport measure was projected to end January 17, 2022 and how since become indefinite. Why are these measures being extended indefinitely with almost no explanation? What data can the Ontario government show, that supports the validity of a QR Code system to patronize businesses?

December 10, 2021. The government of Ontario has announced the delaying the lifting of proof of vaccination requirements indefinitely. The government of Ontario also increased proof of vaccination measures for 12-17 year olds' in organized sports and recreational facilities, places meant to keep children moving and healthy. Doug Ford implemented the vaccine passport with the understanding that the vaccine passport was a important temporary yet necessary measure to keep businesses open while stopping the spread of Covid-19. Doug Ford has stated that he is "not in favour of a mandatory certification." Which is entirely contradictory to his own words. Choosing to continue to enforce a measure that has clearly not worked as effective as presumed is not okay. WE NEED TO BRING A END TO THE INEFFECTIVE QR CODE/CERTIFICATE SYSTEM. With the Omicron Variant running rampant in the province of Ontario and the scientific understanding that both Vaccinated and unvaccinated individuals can contract and transmit Covid-19.  What is the reason for the QR Code and Certificate program?

As of January 3, 2022, The government of Ontario introduced a InTime-limited lockdown measure utilized in order to preserve hospital capacity. A hospital capacity that has been affected by vaccine mandates which have also resulted in the termination of thousands of first responders and healthcare workers. In Doug Ford's own words "we can't afford another lockdown" nor "experience a sudden surge in cases like we're seeing in other provinces across the country" and yet, as of January 6, 2022 we are experiencing both. 

This petition is not in place to debate nor discuss the efficacy of the Covid-19 vaccine. Instead it is meant to challenge the efficacy of the Vaccine Certificates we, Ontarians and Doug Ford himself both DO NOT agree.
