The annual dolphin hunts that occur in Taiji, Japan are so graphically violent that curtains are pulled across the shoreline to hide the killings from the public. Dolphins and small whales are driven into a cove where they are either slaughtered or selected alive for sale to marine parks, zoos and aquaria for human ‘entertainment’. These hunts must end.It is almost inconceivable that this level of cruelty is allowed in the 21st century. Help shape the future.

Japanese 'drive hunts' kill nearly 20,000 dolphins, porpoises and small whales every year.

In the cove at Taiji in Japan, some of the dolphins rounded up are selected for use in dolphin shows but many die of shock before they make it to waiting transport.

The dolphin hunters make approximately $32,000 USD for each live dolphin they capture. These figures can skyrocket from $32,000 USD up to $250,000 USD for a trained captive dolphin.

Commercial whaling was outlawed in 1986 by the International Whaling Commission, but dolphin hunts remain legal. THIS MEANS SOMETHING CAN BE DONE!!!

Ive grown up seeing dolphins as the beautiful creatures they are, as I'm currently studying marine biology I feel I know more about them now and I want my children and future generations to be able to experience these incredible and intelligent creatures like I have been able to in my childhood and growing up.
