Emily Duncan started this petition to State Representative Karianne Lisonbee and

Daylight savings in Utah should come to an end. There is no reason to keep daylight savings, the change in time costs the economy more money, and the time change is detrimental to people's health. The solution for this is switching to daylight savings time year round.

While daylight savings may have been useful in a time when there was no electricity, there is no longer a use for it. There is no point in changing our clocks twice a year.

Not only is daylight savings a nuisance to the clock changers, it can also take a negative toll on the economy. The reason for this is that people tend to be less efficient, especially after springing forward, because of the loss of sleep.

Not only is the loss of sleep bad for the economy, it is also bad for people's health. Changing sleep schedules is never a good idea since it causes drowsiness which can even lead to an increase in car accidents.

In brief, ending daylight savings would positively influence the economy as well as people's health. There is no reason not to switch permanently to daylight savings time year round. Please help spread the word to everyone! Thank you!
