Justice For Mimuna Mohamed

Justice For Mimuna Mohamed

This is a petition to demand justice for Ms. Mimuna Mohamed, a survivor of Toronto Police Services terror, torture, violence, illegal surveillance, illegal interrogation and systematic injustice.
Ms. Mohamed was also tortured using the healthcare system, using hospitals as jail and institutions that facilitated torture according to the definition of UN and Canada's criminal code C-46/section 269.1. Mimuna Mohamed's rights and freedoms protected by the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedom sections 7, 8, 9, 12, and 15 were violated.
Because of the torture Ms. Mohamed has developed serious and lifelong medical complications. Ms. Mohamed has not had access to proper medical care for a long time. Doctors have denied her access to care and Ms.Mohamed had to demand care and document it through letter writing requesting for checkup of her legs which are severally damaged by edema and heart by the advice of her lawyer. She was continuously ignored by doctors, laughed at and dehumanized instead of access to proper healthcare for the damages caused by torture.
Ms. Mohamed constantly faces anti-black racism and Islamophobia. She was denied the Hijab, the Mushaf (copy of the Quran), the biography of Prophet Muhammad (saws), her prayer books, and her prayer beads and her prayer mat.
She has been targeted and tortured through the healthcare system. She was illegally surveilled, interrogated, and tortured since she was a child.
On March.18, 2015, Toronto Police Services stormed Mimuna Mohamed's house based on the words of a man claiming to be mentally ill. Her legal cases have been ongoing since and are in front of the Superior Court of Ontario. We want to demand justice now. She has waited too long and lost too much in this process. We are launching this petition demanding justice and changes to policing, law and all social institutions which Ms. Mohamed faced torture, discrimination, dehumanization, illegal surveillance, illegal interrogation because of anti-black racism and Islamophobia including her place of residence.
Ms. Mohamed survived a chock-hold and being nearly suffocated to death and nearly shot by Toronto police services. They stormed her house with guns drawn, ignored her saying she can’t breathe and while on top of her, cuffing her. Four large members of the Toronto Police Services got on top of Ms. Mohamed who was 120lbs at the time. When she expressed inability to breathe, they laughed at her, one of the cops asked if she wanted water while laughing. They stormed her home with guns drawn in tactical style. She has never committed a crime, and does not have a criminal record. But crimes have been committed against Ms. Mohamed and her family. Ms. Mohamed's mother, a senior was held at gun point and told if she took step towards her home she would be shot dead in 2015.
This year Ms. Mohamed's mother was murdered in the same institution Ms. Mohamed was tortured at Humber River Regional Hospital. Ms. Mohamed was also tortured at Etobicoke General Hospital, Oakville Trafalgar Hospital. Mimuna was kidnapped with no legal grounds, no paperwork and taken to institutions her lawyer described as jail. The first time she sat with her lawyer he told her she was lucky to be alive because she survived approximately over 9 encounters with Toronto Police Services in span of nearly 6 months. As evidence proof, Ms. Mohamed was not sick, not in need of medical services or a criminal therefore police should never been in her life. There are also no reason for her to be targeted, illegally surveilled, illegally interrogated, and tortured.
Ms. Mohamed was purposely taken by the Toronto Police Services without her religious head scarf, shoes or appropriate clothes for the winter. She was told she was facing a lot of legal issues without committing a crime. Mimuna hired a lawyer in the mids of her torture then she was thrown out in a hospital gown from Etobicoke General Hospital and she was told we made a mistake. But the torture continued for nearly 6 months they used Humber River Regional hospital until she hired international human rights/civil lawyer. Ms. Mohamed brought the cases in front of the Superior Court of Ontario. Suing the Toronto police board, other institutions and individuals involved. They have done everything possible to delay her cases even asking for extension of time. Her rights to proper legal procedures, legal counsel and lawyer has been invaded.
The Toronto Police Services invaded Ms. Mohamed's privacy by checking her bank account, her Facebook account and her travel plans that she made in between being tortured to save her life. Ms. Mohamed wants to know why this happened to her? How this is possible in Canada? Why a Canadian would be tortured in Canada, in Toronto for committing no crime?
There are a lot of questions surrounding the torture of Ms. Mohamed and her family and she requires all human beings as global citizens and all Canadians to demand answers, to help seek justice, end the crimes against humanity, torture, illegal surveillance, falsified information, illegal interrogation, entrapment and defamation of her character.
