Encourage Instacart to Support the Fair Food Program
Why this petition matters
Hello,
We are a group of students from Goucher College in Towson, Maryland. As a college, we are concerned about grocery stores not joining the Fair Food Program and continuing to use slavery in their supply chain. We think it is very important to continue to pressure the companies that have not joined the Fair Food Program to reconsider their choices.
A way that we think Instacart could help is by using their algorithm to recommend stores to consumers that are a part of the Fair Food Program first or at the top of the app/website. Promoting grocery stores that have joined the Fair Food Program. As of right now, Fresh Market is the only store that is a part of the Fair Food Program that Instacart is partnered with. We aim to help them improve and have more companies sign onto the Fair Food Program and achieve our goal of fighting against the injustice of modern-day slavery. Perhaps Instacart would consider giving a donation or a portion of profits to benefit the Fair Food Program and eradicate modern-day slavery?
Below are links to the Coalition of Immokalee Workers (CIW) and Fair Food Program’s (FFP) websites that expand on information about the working conditions on farms and what their mission is. Thank you for taking the time to read this message. We hope you consider our ideas and help us all be activists against slavery today. We look forward to hearing back from you.
