Student parking prices at all of the District 214 high schools are $190 annually. Many students, particularly seniors, are sometimes only on campus for three periods a day but still have to pay the full amount for parking on school property. We think that annual price should be cut by half to $95.

In addition, the student parking areas especially at Elk Grove High School are often not plowed when the snow falls, making it even harder for students to park, especially if they don't have parking passes. The Lions Park parking lot is managed by the park district and Rotary Green is managed by the village. Plowing of those lots are low priorities for both entities. We need to encourage both the park district and village to make plowing a priority.
