Becky Hesler started this petition to EMT Board and

The City of Brooksville Ky has a resident who is employed at the EMT building as a driver of an ambulance. He stated, in front of several witnesses, in a gas station, that Overdose calls are a waste of resources. One of those witnesses was my daughter Vanessa, who is a recovering Heroin addict. She has been sober for over 4 years. The other witness was her father Joe. I will not name the others.

As the mother of a recovering addict I have witnessed the stigma that comes with this disease.  However, I would have never thought it would be within the community of first responders. I feel like someone who feels that overdose calls are a "waste of recourses" should not be employed with such a job.

I am asking that you sign this petition to have this person released from this job and set a precedence for anyone else who feels this way, in this position.

No one is immune from the disease. And if this was your child, sibling, mother, father, grandparent, cousin, nephew, niece or friend that was laying out on the floor unable to breath and on the brink of death.....ask yourself...would you want this first responder to be there???
