Letter of solidarity from International Students at Aarhus University

We the international students at Aarhus University write this letter to express support for the public workers strike. As internationals, we often feel that we are not given a voice in such events as these, however we speak now. While many of us have a lot at stake, being international and not having the stability a Danish national might experience, we unequivocally support the demands of the workers. The cuts on the table would cause a breakdown of labour wellbeing for the teachers, who would be required to still work during their lunch period, resulting in unpaid labor and stress. As valuable members of our society, the teachers deserve what they are asking for. We wholly reject the employers’ tactic of lockout, as this disregards the Danish model of labour negotiation, an essential component of their democracy.

Solidarity, and long live bargaining rights!
