Federal Law does not require employers to give their employees any breaks whatsoever. Every job I've ever had gave me a 30 minute lunch break and 2 additional breaks. Maybe I have been lucky but I always thought that was the law. But according to OSHA's website it is not required. It's well past time to require all employers to give their staff adequate breaks. My current job schedules us for ten hour shifts and we only get 1 thirty minute lunch break. It is a very fast paced factory job and it's darn near sweatshop conditions. This should not be legally allowed! We all deserve breaks. But since the law doesn't require we get breaks, the employers take advantage of us non-union workers, especially in at will states.
