Beth Wallace is a 19 year old former employee of Franklin County Humane Society. On July 4th, 2012, Beth was critically injured in an automobile accident. She was in the intensive care unit at University of Kentucky hospital for two days following the accident, then moved to a room in the hospital, then after 4 days she was released.
She suffered multiple injuries, but was very lucky to come away from the accident alive. Her arm is broken in two places, her pelvic bone is broken, and she has multiple lacerations and bruises. Her car was totalled, with the passenger side car being wrapped around a tree. She was removed from the vehicle by the jaws of life.
Beth never received one call, not one well wish, not one ounce of care or concern from her employers, Franklin County Humane Society. On Friday, July 13th, Sam Marcus, board president, shows up at her house while she was still recooperating in a hospital bed to inform her that her position with the Humane Society was terminated because they could not leave her position open while she recovered.
On Saturday, July 14th, Franklin County Humane Society had this posted on their Facebook page "HELP WANTED! One of our FCHS staff had to unexpectedly take time off, and we are in desperate need of some help answering the phone. If you are willing to come to the shelter and do phone duty for a few hours, anytime from 11:30 to 5:00 and any day over the next few weeks, we would really appreciate your help! Please email email@example.com if you're available - thank you so much in advance!!!"
Then after being questioned about Beth's termination, removed the post and followed up with this statement "Everyone, I am sorry - I posted incorrect information in a previous post about our personnel situation and need for volunteers at the shelter. I was not up-to-date about that situation, and I apologize. ---D'Arcy"
If this "Humane" society cannot treat their employees humanely, and with respect, how exactly are they treating the animals that are in their care.
Beth has NO reprimands, and has only missed one days work prior to this accident in 8 months of employment. Her dismissal is in violation of the Human Society's very own By Laws, May 2012.

UPDATE: Today Sam Marcus called Beth and told her it wasn't because of the wreck, that she wasn't doing her job. We call FOUL. She just received a raise and was NEVER reprimanded for not doing her job. Bad move, Sam. You are digging deeper!!!!!
UPDATE: Due to recent developments, we are asking for the removal of Sam Marcus, Mike Nolan and Nancy Benton.
.The former director of FCHS who was Beth's direct supervisor for nearly 8 months had NO problems with Beth's work performance. Ms. Benton (who had been employed ONLY since June 15, 2012, (Ninteen Days,) was planning on firing her PRIOR to her accident???????
