The current situation in the eastern part of Nigeria if not stopped immediately might deteriorate to war, leading to instability in the whole world and loss of many lives.
Currently there is an unrest in the whole of Nigeria. All these are as a result of politically instigated ethnic rivalry, corruption and Greed. These above mentioned problems has lingered so long that it has created an unimaginable damage to the society.
There is a federal government ordered army program going on in the eastern part of Nigeria at the moment, known as Operation Python Dance. This program entails the intimidation, harassment and killings of unarmed, non-violent civilians by the Army. I want to add that these peaceful protesters are mainly innocent citizens who fighting for self actualization and freedom from a government that has demonstrated a nonchalant attitude towards the worth of human lives.
An example of nonchalancy towards human lives by this government is the killing of igbos in the northern part of the country, both in the near past and at the moment. They have not made any recorded effort to stop these barbaric acts or have they tried to bring the people involved to book.
These unfortunate activities going on the various parts of the country at the moment has also grown tension in every other part of the world.
This petition has the purpose of getting these crisis to the eye of the international community and hoping that they will intervene to restore peace and order in the country, while also urging the Federal government to allow the citizens to exercise their human rights,, which right to peaceful protest is a mong.
