Women are constantly facing Sexism in the music industry. They are treated as inferior and with little to no respect, especially in comparison to the way men are treated. Women are constantly hated on, underestimated, and undermined in the music industry by both the professionals/producers and the consumers/public. Along with their work and opinions not being valued and respected, women face constant objectification, being told that showing of their body is the only way people will care about them and their work. Many women in the music industry have come out and spoken about the sexism they have experienced while in the industry, such as: Taylor Swift, Dua Lipa, and Doja Cat, as well as many other talented artists and musicians. It is not just that these talented women have to face so much hardship in order to gain the success that they have, the success that men much easier achieve due to their almost built in respect from people high up in the music industry as well as the public.

Women are just as strong, talented, and capable as any man and they deserve to be treated as such. We are done watching women be abused and undervalued in the world as a whole, but especially in the music industry, so we have decided to take action. We hope that you will help in this journey to end misogyny in the music industry by signing this petition and raising awareness. With enough signatures we hope to send this petition to big companies and producers in the music industry, to stand up and make them realize that a change needs to be made.
