Jayne Raisborough started this petition to Embsay and Eastby Parish Council and Craven District Coucil and

Speeding is a problem in our village.  It's bad for all road users and for those who feel unsafe walking along Skipton Road and into Skipton.  It's bad for air and noise pollution.

Part of the problem is the  National Speed Limit Sign which permits cars to travel up to 60 miles an hour over the bridge heading out of the village on Skipton Road,  The sign encourages cars to speed up as they travel out of the village. Some start this run after they pass the Cavendish.  Cars coming into the village often ignore the 30 mile limit or have to brake heavily.

With increased traffic through our village and more expected with new house builds, we ask for safer roads and safer walking. We ask Embsay and Eastby Parish Coucil,  Craven District Council  and our MP Julian Smith for:

1. the National Speed Limit be removed from Skipton Road

2. that 30 miles an hour is applied to the bridge
