Keep the hands in Venice

I’m just a person, like many others, in love with the hands propping up Venice. I was lucky enough to see the wonderful sculpture “Support” by Lorenzo Quinn in June 2017 and in a city known for its architecture and classical art, it was refreshing to have a modern piece that not only stood out, but equally blended in with the very rich history of the islands. Not only does it seem to have become embedded in the fabric Venice, but it brings awareness to the very real plight the city faces, in part due to climate change - a future where Venice may no longer exist.

Soon the sculpture will be removed from Venice, which I feel would be a great loss to the city. Not only would it be very sad if more people could not appreciate the sculpture first hand, but it feels like art work is already in its rightful home.
