Stop Speeding on Seven Hills Road with Speed Control Measures!

This petition had 143 supporters

The reason for my petition is to help control the speeding vehicles along Seven Hills Road. Though we love our road, like many of our neighbours we have been shocked at the level of speeding traffic on Seven Hills Road. Being residential, we believe that the council should take more responsibility for the safety of families and residents who reside here.  We would like to petition the council to provide more traffic calming and speed limiting measures particularly since there have been so many casualties and sadly even fatalities in the area. Only on June 3rd was another cyclist hit on Seven Hills and taken to hospital with life threating injuries.

By considering some form of action for the speeding vehicles, we could significantly reduce the speed and recklessness of drivers such as the road shaking  from large lorries or the drag racing motorbikes that race past in the early hours of the mornings and evenings. We understand this is a main through road to Weybridge and Walton so traffic is inevitable and it is an important road for many transport links though it is still a residential road and we should be able to make it a safe one.

This is why I am asking for as much support as possible from the Seven Hills Road Resident’s to help petition for a Speeding solution (road bumps, camera’s your ideas are most welcome) to aid us all in trying to slow the speeding traffic down and to make our road a safer place for all the residents, for all our children, visitors and knowing that we can safely be able to pull out/into our driveways without concern of the oncoming speeding traffic or simply being more inclined to go for a walk/run.

I hope you share the same concerns as we do and would like to join us in signing the petition.
