VICE magazine’s publication Broadly published an article by a Carrie Shirley titled "My Mom Went on a Date with the Dalai Lama, but He Couldn't Hit It”

The article accompanies a photograph purported to be His Holiness the Dalai Lama. The person in the photograph is clearly not His Holiness the Dalai Lama.
The author make baseless accusation that is tantamount to defamation and based on ignorance with numerous factual errors.
His Holiness the Dalai Lama is a monk. In Buddhist tradition, monks are not allowed to form any personal relationship with a woman.
His Holiness the Dalai Lama has always been one of the leading voices for women's rights. His message is always one of compassion, warmheartedness, inner peace and human rights.

When notified, Broadly simply changed the title to: “My Mom Claims She Went on a Date with the Dalai Lama, but He Couldn’t Hit It”.

We demand that VICE and Broadly immediately RETRACT the article and offer an apology for misrepresenting His Holiness the Dalai Lama, and hurting the sentiments of Buddhists and supporters across the world.

We the undersigned are fully prepared to take legal action against the magazine and the author if they fail to retract the article immediately.
