McLean High School: Don't deprive AP students and teachers freedom after AP exams
This petition made change with 283 supporters!
The McLean administration had complaints from honors and regular students' parents about the level of work AP students have after the exam. As a result, the administration is trying to implement end of the year exams for AP classes even though many classes finished finals before the AP exams. Additionally, they want to implement more assessments for post-AP exam classes. AP teachers and students put a high level of effort throughout the school year leading up to the AP exam. After the AP exam we expect classes to be relaxed learning environments to focus on educationally-rich projects and compelling class discussions. This allows teachers an opportunity to inspire a lifelong love of learning, not learning for an assessment which the rest of the school year entails. AP teachers and students exhibited discipline and responsibility throughout the school year to prepare for the AP exam. One of the rewards for that effort is a test-free environment after the AP exams. Please do not deprive that freedom from teachers and students.
