Declare Ceredigion as the first Frack Free Local Authority in Wales
This petition made change with 384 supporters!
By declaring Ceredigion free from Hydraulic Fracturing, Coal Bed Methane and Undergound Coal Gassification we will be leading the way to a cleaner and more sustainable future.
We can set a precedent for other Local Authorities by showing that we are making responsible and positive changes in our community.
The world is running out of fossil fuels and there is a growing need for energy, but the global temperature is rising at a dangerous rate and the world is getting more and more polluted.
We must make the right choices for future generations before it's too late.
We want to hold our heads high as we declare that we will not be forced into a situation where our children and animals are poisoned, our land is polluted and destroyed by mass industrialisation, or our property is exploited and made less valuable, simply because a company wishes to make money.
We know Fracking is un-sustainable, does not provide jobs for locals and will not reduce energy prices. It is dangerous, very un-popular and distracts from finding sustainable and renewable technolgy.
We know that the need to use renewable energy is inevitable and so investing in the technology now is the only way to safe-guard the future for our children and theirs.
Thanks for signing our petition :)
