The Elk Ridge City master plan for building and roads has Goosenest Road tying into Sunset Road and new development to the east as another access into the city. However, there is a new proposal that would change that. In the new plan, Ama Fille Lane becomes the new access road going into Loafer Canyon, not tying in to Goosenest at all.

This is very concerning and problematic. Goosenest is a wider road: it has space for cars to pull over if needed, it has room for sidewalks to keep residents safe, it can handle the extra traffic, and along with Park/Elk Ridge Drive, it’s a main road through the city. Ama Fille does not have any of those abilities nor is it a through street to other main roads.

This petition is asking Elk Ridge City to NOT CHANGE THE MASTER PLAN. Please do not make Ama Fille Lane an access road. In emergency situations, a wider road is essential, especially if we have to ever evacuate again. One car that breaks down on Ama Fille Lane would create a traffic jam for all behind them. In the same scenario, a car on Goosenest has room to pull to the side and still allow others to go past and emergency vehicles can maneuver better.
