In times that have long since passed a person could earn a third name when they achieved a level of greatness. These may have been bestowed by the Crown, Goverment or the common people.

Yesterday the Queen of the United Kingdom lay down her duty and passed into eternity.

When I was reflecting on her life it became obvious that this lady achieved an impossible task. She navigated huge shifts within society and the global stage. From the fall of Empire, to the end of the Age of Deference. She also witnessed the birth of a third of the worlds nations. In essence stood vigil to modern history.

To think she navigated this landscape without ever truly telling us what her thoughts were on any political issue.

That was her job, this was her duty. These were never her choices. To do so for so many years reminds us of what true dedication looks like.

When the history of this nation is written down let it refer to her as Elizabeth the Great.

I am asking that a formal statement is made in Parliament by the Prime Minister recognising her as Elizabeth the Great.
