Eliminate The Pink Tax

Eliminate The Pink Tax
Why this petition matters
The Pink Tax is the tendency for products marketed towards women to be substantially more expensive than those of men. For example, in the state of Connecticut women's razors cost approximately 25% more than that of mens, and deodorant costs 12.6% more for women than men. In addition to that, the prices of feminine products are astronomically high, leading to them being non-accessible to women in certain demographics. This is clear discrimination towards women seeing as there is no realistic reasoning for women's products to cost more than mens. We believe that pricing for products should be equal for both men and women, and that feminine products should be more accessible and cost-efficient to women with financial problems. Our goal is to petition and pressure the Government of Connecticut to pass a bill that guarantees the equality of pricing for sanitary products between both genders, and improve the accessibility of sanitary products for women.
