I am compelled to start this petition out of a deep concern for the integrity of our government, echoing the sentiments of countless citizens who are exasperated with how our country is being run. We are disillusioned with the misuse of our tax money, funds directed towards individuals who are perceived as undeserving, and a government seemingly deaf to our cries. 

Our members of Parliament ought to represent the best of us, serving as stewards of our democracy. However, their current legal immunity creates a double standard that places them above the law. This needs to change. Legal immunity for Parliament members has been exploited, allowing those in power to act without accountability for their actions, and even enabling fraud at the highest level.

In a democratic society, no one should be above the law - and that includes members of Parliament. Adopting legislation to remove this immunity would send a clear message that everyone, regardless of their position or power, is held to the same standards.
