Introduce legislation to prevent companies from promoting underage gambling(Battlefront 2)

EA has just released the Latest Disney Star Wars product in Star Wars: Battlefront 2

In it you are forced to unlock content through "loot crates" which costs in game currency that has a daily limit, encouraging you to buy in-game currency with real money. These loot crates are dependent on chance for winning prizes much like a slot machine at a casino. While it is possible to unlock these prizes without spending money the time commitment necessary to do so is such that for many purchasing in game currency would be the only method for them to be able to enjoy the product that they purchased.

While much can be said about these extortionist practices, in the end gambling is legal. The focus of this petition is the to address the fact that these "micro-transactions" are indeed gambling and yet the rating of the game still remains T for TEEN with a recommended age of 13+.

According to the ESRB the T Rating is "Content that is generally suitable for ages 13 and up. May contain violence, suggestive themes, crude humor, minimal blood, simulated gambling and/or infrequent use of strong language". The key words being "simulated gambling," the fact is that these micro-transaction are "actual gambling" and it targets underage children.

I propose that the ESRB reclassify EA's Star Wars: Battlefront 2 as an Adults Only game, furthermore, that we introduce legislation to prevent companies like EA and Disney from including Micro-Transactions in games with ESRB ratings that are accessible to children who are not old enough to legally gamble.

I will be contacting the lawmakers in my state to get this underway however I encourage everyone to contact the lawmakers in their respective states.
