EA: Please remake classic Need For Speed games

There are many of us, including myself, who feel that the games which define the Need For Speed franchise in the beginning are the first four titles, from The Need for Speed through to High Stakes.

These games come from a simpler time, when NFS was far and away the pre-eminent driving/ racing game. Even by today's standards, these are still enjoyable to play.

Although there have been many titles since then, with excellent graphics and gameplay, some would contend that these earlier versions were more endearing, groundbreaking and complete games.

I personally remember growing up with NFS II:SE; a game which I continued to play for several years after its 1997 release. There were newer racing games with better graphics etc but none of them had the magic of this version.

The proposal is as follows : Remake NFS SE, NFS II: SE, Hot Pursuit, High Stakes into one title,  with newly rendered versions of the original maps and every car plus the original showcase videos and soundtrack intact. Even today, tracks of this are still listened to on YouTube.

Not just a smoothed over re-make, but a thorough adaptation to 2017's standards of visuals and driving dynamics.

This is not just an shallow exercise of nostalgia, it could re-introduce the current generation of gamers to the NFS story- which would otherwise be relegated to obsolete platforms- and bolster their affinity and understanding of NFS.

Other titles, which are arguably among the most loved NFS titles are Porsche 2000 and the Underground series. Perhaps these could be revisited at some stage too?

So how about it EA? are you game to give a generation of gamers the revival they would love?
